VPLS operates three datacenters in Los Angeles, California at One Wilshire, 600 West 7th Street and 800 South Hope. Our datacenters boast Tier 1 providers with One Wilshire being the largest West Coast POP (point of presence) for all telecom providers.

About Our Internet Data Centers

One Wilshire, LA - is one of the World's largest single site IP peering hubs, which is home to over 200 of the largest carriers in the world. VPLS also participates in the Any2Exchange peering exchange with VPLS' CEO Ted Mektrakarn serving on the Board of Directors for Any2Exchange. Through CoreSite's Any2Exchange VPLS has established numerous peers with over 300,000 combined routes or one third of the Internet routes!

600 West 7th, LA - Our datacenter at 600 West 7th Street is home to the some of the largest ISP's in the world. This datacenter has over 450,000 sq. feet of datacenter space, 17 1500KW Generators, 20,000 gallons of diesel fuel on site and much more. All of our Los Angeles locations are secure facilities and feature 24 hour roving security patrols, video surveillance, card access doors and state of the art fire suppression systems.

800 South Hope, LA - Our newest and largest datacenter space was first built out in December 2009 and was home to over 1200 servers a month later. Currently this data center houses over 10,000 servers with room for more expansion. Our LAX VPLS Technical Assistance Center (vTAC) is also located on premise where engineers work diligently 24x7 to monitor and support our systems and network.

One Wilshire, LA- This facility has power density up to 25 KWs per cabinet.
600 West 7th, LA - Our 600 West 7th cabinets has power density from 6 kWs per and higher.
800 South Hope, LA - Our newest facility at 800 South Hope boasts AC 120V/240V for each cabinet, with 480V 3 phase available.

Battery Backup

One Wilshire & 600 West 7th, LA - The facilities are all equipped with N+1 and redundant AC/DC UPS power, ensuring servers keep running and stay online in the event that power is lost. Our One Wilshire facility also has 2N DC power available.
800 South Hope, LA - Our newest facility is equipped with DC, 48 volt battery backups. This ensures servers keep running for 6 hours in the event of a power lost.

Security Features

One Wilshire & 600 West 7th, LA - Our customer's servers remain secure with 24x7 staffing and site access, mantraps, CCTV surveillance, and biometric access control.
800 South Hope, LA - Like all of our datacenters, the 800 South Hope facility has a 24/7 CCTV system with card access control to ensure only certified staff is able to enter.

Generator

One Wilshire & 600 West 7th, LA - The generators in both One Wilshire and 600 West 7th facilities are setup with 2N and N emergency generator configuration, keeping servers online in the case of a major outage.
800 South Hope, LA - The generators at the 800 South Hope facility have a 6-2000 KW diesel generator in the event that power is lost and the UPS runs out of juice. This ensures power is constantly flowing to the cabinets.
