VPLS has partnered with ACS, Inc. and the Orange County Data Center to offer our customers the most state of the art facility in Southern California. Boasting over 65,000 square feet of raised, ventilated flooring and other amenities, our fully redundant facility was designed to be safe and secure.
Boasting over 65,000 square feet of raised, ventilated flooring and other amenities, our fully redundant facility was designed to be safe and secure. Running out of drive space? Just call or email our technicians and we can add extra hard drive space almost instantly. Like our downtown Los Angeles datacenter, our Santa Ana datacenter is manned 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
The Orange County Data Center receives a direct 22,000 volt power feet to its three Square D Transformers of which it is fed to 480 batteries that prevent lapses between the feed and facility. The batteries can keep the facility running long enough to restore the feed or until the backup generator is turned on. 2 Liebert 1000 KVA UPS units, an N+1 inline redundant hardware component, are used to power the equipment inside the facility.
The UPS can protect sensitive operations or entire facilities from voltage aberrations and outages. IGBTs (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors) are combined with Pulse Width Modulation/Stepwave topology to provide reliable Operation. ACS uses Site Scan to update the command center on the status of power, air handler, and UPS energy consumption.
Equipped with dual mission-critical 1000kVA redundant Uninterruptible Power Sources backed by 488 C &D flooded wet cell batteries. 2950 kilowatt Caterpillar Diesel Generator available within eight seconds in a power failure UPS protects entire facility from voltage aberrations and outages. The batteries can keep the facility running long enough to restore the feed or until the backup generator is turned on. Facility is equipped with a 12,500 gallon underground storage tank of diesel fuel. Enough power to conduct business for four days without feed from Southern California Edison.
The facility has a 2950 kilovolt Caterpillar Diesel Generator in the event the power feed is cut, and the batteries are running low. The Orange County Data Center has 12,500 gallons of diesel fuel on reserve and in the event of an emergency; the County facility is given priority status on re-fueling. The facility has enough power to conduct business as usual approximately 4 days without a direct feed from Southern California Edison, which in just right across the street. Finally, the Orange County Data Center has a proven track record for offering redundant power in the event of an emergency: it ran for six hours independent of outside resources after the Landers earthquake.
The Orange County Data Center provides 24-hour security. The exterior of the building is monitored by highly sensitive and state of the art microwave beams. Any intrusion of the beams is acknowledged by a site scan monitoring system that indicates who, what, and where the intrusion occurred and is recorded by any of the nineteen interior or exterior surveillance cameras. The Data Center operates a 24-hour 7-day a week work force.
The Orange County Data Center has 360° surveillance cameras to patrol exterior and interior perimeters. These cameras secure interior and exterior entrances and common areas. Cameras are both exposed and hidden to insure complete coverage. Camera locations are never disclosed to personnel or visitors. Exterior microwaves identify movement and deter potential vandalism and set off notification alarms with the Operations Center.
